Improving the R&D and production level of power batteries to promote the accelerated development of the new energy vehicle industry

We must fully recognize the importance and urgency of accelerating the development of power batteries, adhere to the dominant position of enterprises, increase policy support, strengthen technological and business model innovation, focus on breaking through a number of key core technologies, promote revolutionary breakthroughs in power batteries, and accelerate the development of the new energy vehicle industry.

In recent years, China has made positive progress in the research and industrialization of power batteries, achieving breakthroughs in some fields and laying a good foundation for accelerating the development of new energy vehicles. However, it should also be noted that there is still a certain gap compared to the international advanced level, which cannot fully meet the needs of large-scale promotion and application of new energy vehicles, and there is still a scattered phenomenon in the development of the industry.

Ma Kai emphasized that power batteries are the heart of new energy vehicles and the key to the development of the new energy vehicle industry. At present, the new energy vehicle and power battery industries are in a critical period of development, facing unprecedented opportunities, as well as many risks and challenges. All regions, departments, relevant enterprises, and industry organizations should work together to accelerate the development and production of power batteries to a new level. We need to increase our research and development efforts on key common technologies, focus on breaking through the bottleneck of battery grouping and system integration technology, produce one generation, research and develop one generation, and reserve one generation to form a sustainable technical support system. We need to further improve the technical standard system, strengthen basic standard research, actively participate in and lead the formulation of international standards, and promote the internationalization of Chinese standards. We must vigorously promote collaborative innovation, integrate research and development resources, establish cross industry and cross field innovation alliances, and form a joint force for innovation and research and development. We should actively explore and develop various characteristic business models, encourage battery manufacturers to transform into comprehensive service providers, and accelerate the cultivation and development of a group of professional operation service companies. We need to accelerate the research and formulation of relevant policies and regulations, explore various ways to promote battery recycling and reuse. We need to promote and implement existing policy measures, and further increase support for fiscal, tax, financial, and industrial policies. We need to strengthen industry norms and guidance, encourage corporate mergers and acquisitions, expand and strengthen advantageous enterprises, and promote the sustainable and healthy development of the industry.
